UNH Student Assaulted, Fights Off Her Attackers

The suspects reportedly attempted to take the student's wallet.

A female University of New Hampshire student was assaulted during an attempted robbery on campus Wednesday night.

UNH Police said that around 9:15 p.m. Wednesday, two male suspects grabbed the student by the wrist and tried to take her wallet near Rudman Hall on Academic Way. The student fought off the attackers, striking one in the face. 

The student said the suspects were wearing dark colored hooded sweatshirts, shorts and sneakers. One of them had long hair.

UNH Police and Campus Service Officers said they will be increasing their patrols of the area and providing safety escorts following the assault.

Anyone who sees anything suspicious or has any information concerning suspicious activity in and around Rudman Hall is encouraged to call the UNH Police Department Investigative Services Division at 603-862-1427.
