Vermont Man Falls Asleep, Crashes Truck on Route 101

New Hampshire State Police are looking to speak to witnesses who may have seen the crash.

Were you traveling on Route 101 in the vicinity of Raymond at around 4:15 p.m. on June 10? If you were, and you saw the recent crash, the New Hampshire State Police would like to speak to you.

According to an alert, troopers were called to a rollover on the east side of the highway just east of Exit 5 in Raymond.

“(An) on scene investigation showed the vehicle was traveling eastbound when the operator drove off the roadway rolling over several times coming to a complete stop down the embankment,” according to Sgt. Steven Cooper of the NHSP. “The causation of the crash was the operator had fallen asleep.”

The vehicle in question, a 2003 Nissan pickup, was being driven by a Vermont man, who was later transported to Exeter Hospital for treatment. The NH State Police were assisted by the Raymond Police and Raymond Fire Departments.
