Vernon Family Farm Hosts Children's Author
Chicken Noodlephant Event Features Chicken Noodle Soup, Book Talk, and Music

NEWFIELDS__Vernon Family Farm and Water Street Bookstore are thrilled to host children’s author Jacob Kramer for a special event this weekend.
The Chicken Noodlephant event will take place at Vernon Family Farm, Saturday, Nov. 2 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Jacob Kramer, the author of a new book, “Noodlephant” will read from the book during the afternoon, which also features live music from Artty Raynes Francoeur, and VFF’s own chicken noodle soup and biscuits.
Kramer’s book tells the story of an elephant who loved noodles so much her friends called her “Noodlephant.” She is famous for her pasta parties and shocked when the law-loving kangaroos decide noodles are only for them. The story follows Noodlephant as she and her friends’ band together to overthrow the kangaroos.

The afternoon will kick off at 2 p.m. with music by Francoeur, known for his harmonica techniques and guitar styles spanning many genres like swing, bluegrass, swamp music, honkytonk, blues, country, rock, Americana, reggae and soul. Franceuor will perform a second set from 5 p.m. until 6 p.m.
Kramer will read for children at 3 p.m. and again at 4 p.m., and books will be available from Water Street Bookstore.

"We love working with local partners like Vernon Family Farm because it helps us get out of the store and into the community,” said Stefanie Kiper Schmidt, of Water Street Bookstore.
Children and families can also take hayrides, and participate in pumpkin smashing, with compost going to the farm’s hens. The farm’s firepits on their Wicked Chicken patio will be going and guests can enjoy the farm’s homemade chicken noodle soup and biscuits. Gluten free soup is also available.
Admission for children is free with a $10 cover for adults.
Vernon Family Farm is located at 301 Piscassic Road in Newfields, where their farm store is open daily from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. for local food shopping.
