Vernon Family Farm Hosts Last Fried Chicken Friday of Season

NEWFIELDS__Ring in the start of fall with dinner from the popular Fried Chicken Friday at Vernon Family Farm this week.
The Vernon Fried Chicken this Friday, Sept. 25, will once again feature guest Chef Matt Provencher, of the Foundry Restaurant in Manchester, who will fry up VFF chicken from 4 to 7 p.m. at the farm. The Foundry is the largest farm-to-table restaurant in the state.
This week marks the last fried chicken night of the season.
Wicked Chicken Rotisserie, cooked up on the custom rotisserie smoker by farmer Jeremiah Vernon and his team, will continue weekly. Wicked Chicken is available seasoned with the VFF Custom Spice Blend, Tuscan Herb, Coffee, Jerk and Harissa. Both can be picked up in a curbside drive-through style system. All chicken is non-GMO, pasture-raised, USDA certified, and Halal certified.
The fried chicken plates do sell out, so it’s recommended that customers pre-order through the farm’s website. Rotisserie can also be purchased that day with or without pre-order.
Friday’s fried chicken plate ($20) includes two pieces of double-fried, boneless chicken thighs, plus a biscuit, a side of coleslaw, and pasta salad. The fried chicken is not a gluten or dairy-free meal. All chicken is non-GMO, pasture-raised, USDA certified, and Halal certified. As fall begins, VFF invites customers to visit the farm on weekends, take a walk around and visit the animals, including Bruce the Llama, the unofficial king of Newfields, who guards the farm's chickens.
