Who is the Ioka's Mystery Buyer?

We have some clues.

On the identity of the mystery buyer who the historic Ioka building yesterday, this much we know so far:

  1. It's a man.
  2. He's a philanthropist.
  3. He's from the Seacoast.
  4. He had the Boston, Mass.-based Kensington Investment Co. handle the purchase.

While best-selling author Dan Brown – who effectively launched his career in Exeter – had his name tossed around, a representative of the buyer said it wasn't him.

On the philanthropist angle, one of heads of Kensington Investment is Alan Lewis, who offered a million dollars to develop a park in Kensington, N.H., according to these Planning Board minutes.

Lewis also owns the Grand Circle Foundation, which helps developing countries around the world.

Carol Aten, who represents the buyer, said his name will be released sometime soon.
