EXETER NH, 12/17/2022: “Wreaths Across America” Day 2022 was celebrated in Exeter’s Winter Street Cemetery, on a chilly December day, by the Daughters of the American Revolution, Exeter NH Chapter. The finale of the ceremony was a triple firing of a small “swing cannon” by two members of Captain Henry Dearborn’s Co., William Jennison of Exeter, and Greg Roy of Epping, who are local living-historians.
For many years, the Exeter Chapter DAR has convened a brief holiday ceremony in the small but historic cemetery. The public is always invited to join in. This year’s abundant gathering of bundled people, both young and old, then placed wreaths on about 30 veteran’s graves. The mission of the annual Wreaths Across America (WreathsAcrossAmerica.org) event is to Remember, Honor, and Teach.
