10 Candidates File for Town, School Positions
Several challengers put in for Hampton and Winnacunnet positions.

There was a small flurry of election activity Wednesday on the first official filing day for , as 10 individuals submitted paperwork for a variety of offices, including two individuals each for the Hampton Board of Selectmen and the Winnacunnet School Board.
As anticipated, two former selectmen tossed their names back into the mix on the first official day of town election season; Mary-Louise Woolsey, the current vice chair of the Hampton Budget Committee, and Ben Moore, a former selectmen chairman, both filed paperwork for one of the two available three-year terms.
At least one of those seats is up for grabs, as Bill Lally, the current vice chair of the board, . Selectman Jerry Znoj will presumably run for reelection, although he didn't file his paperwork Wednesday.

Also, Leslie Russell Lafond, a realtor, filed paperwork for the three-year Hampton representative seat on the Winnacunnet School Board. Robert Copp, a member of the North Hampton School Board, filed paperwork for the three-year North Hampton representative seat on the Winnacunnet School Board.
Rounding out the remainder of the candidates who formally declared Wednesday are as follows:

- Hampton moderator (one for a two-year term): Bob Casassa, who is running for reelection.
- Hampton Planning Board (one for a three-year term): Art Moody, a former selectman.
- Hampton library trustee (two for three-year terms): Richard Laskey Jr. and Sunny Kravitz, both of whom are running for reelection.
- Hampton Zoning Board (two for three-year terms): Bill O'Brien, who is the current chair of the board and is running for reelection.
The filing periods for both the Hampton town elections and the Winnacunnet School District elections are open until Friday, Feb. 3. More information about available positions and important dates is available .
Candidate filing information for the Hampton School District and the North Hampton School District elections wasn't available Wednesday afternoon. The filing period for North Hampton's town elections doesn't open until March 21.
