166 Pumpkins Highlight First Year of Family Event
Jack-o'-lanterns and lots of costumed children helped bring Halloween spirit to Hampton Beach during the inaugural Pumpkin Fest.
Pumpkin Fest, presented by McKinnon's Market and Super Butcher Shop of Portsmouth, La Bec Rouge, Marston School, Kennedy and Loiseau Real Estate, and the Hampton Area Chamber of Commerce was held recently at La Bec Rouge, located at 73 Ocean Boulevard in Hampton, on Tuesday, Oct. 30.
Families arrived in their Halloween costumes and enjoyed a free pizza and soda party as part of the event, which is in its first year. One-hundred, sixty-six hand-carved pumpkins were illuminated and on display on the deck of La Bec Rouge.
“The Pumpkin Fest was a great success,” said Ginni McNamara, director of special events at the Hampton Area Chamber of Commerce. “We hope to grow it a little more each year."
