By this measure our Republican Senators fail miserably. Their position is simply stupid economically, has no compassion for 58,000 uninsured citizens and lacks the courage to step outside the rigid confines of their thinking to do what is right for the State.
To paraphrase Hubert Humphrey, compassion is not weakness and concern for the unfortunate is not socialism. I thought that these were actually New Hampshire values?
Sometimes a deal comes along that is too good to pass up even if it is part of the policy of a Democratic president. Let’s hope that our Republican Senators don’t bit off our noses to save their faces.
