Deceased Man Found On Beach Near Wallis Road In Rye On Monday

RYE, NH — The body of a deceased man wash on the shore of Rye Beach over the weekend and was found by someone walking at the beach early morning on Monday.

Rye Police Chief Kevin Walsh confirmed fire, police, and EMS responded to the Wallis Road Extension beach for an unresponsive person at 6:50 a.m. There were "obvious signs the person was deceased,” he said.

The incident is being investigated by the Rye Police Department, which is communicating with other state and county law enforcement agencies.

Walsh said the department would not release any other information out of respect for the family.
