Strong Summer for Bandstand Concerts

The final performance of the North Hampton Summer Bandstand Concert Series was Monday, ending another successful summer at the Common.

With the traditional "end of summer" holiday now behind us, the Town of North Hampton Summer Bandstand Concert Series concluded with a Labor Day performance by Good Mem'ries Big Band, a 16-piece orchestra playing a two-hour performance on the Common.

Good Mem'ries Big Band is a local North Hampton swing/jazz band playing music from the big band era of the '30s, '40s and '50s. Food and beverages were available courtesy American Legion Post 35 to raise money for its various charities.

This past summer, the Bandstand Concert Series included 12 performances featuring Dixieland, jazz, doo wop, rock 'n' roll, country and big band genres, and all were free to the public.

All of these concerts were well-attended events with happy listeners bringing folding chairs and blankets to enjoy the wonderful feel of open air live music.
