Catch Some Fun at Annual Fishing Derby

Hampton Recreation's popular Fishing Derby event is coming soon.

Hampton Recreation’s ever-popular Fishing Derby will be held on Saturday, May 12 from 8-11 a.m. at Batchelder’s Pond, located on Towle Farm Road in Hampton.

This program is open to children in grades K-8, at a cost of $5 per child.

Each participant is required to obtain a fishing license in advance at the recreation office beginning Monday, April 2.

Prizes and trophies will be awarded for the biggest and smallest fish in different age categories, as well as for the casting contest.

As an added attraction to an already fun day of fishing, Hampton Recreation will host a fly fishing demo featuring Mark Foley of First Cast Fly Fishing.

Foley, a NH-licensed fly fishing guide and a fishing instructor for NH Fish & Game, is the Fly-Fishing Club advisor at Phillips Exeter Academy.
