Congress and the US Constitution

Have you looked at the US Constitution lately? The NRA repeatedly cites the 2^nd Amendment as “the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed”. However they ignore the first 4 words which are “ A well regulated militia”. Must we endure a daily repay of the Gunfight at OK Corral?

Even of greater importance in this age of Sequester is Article ,1 Section 8, which I quote. “The Congress shall have the power to lay and collect taxes…to pay the debts”. Members of Congress take an Oath to uphold the US Constitution. Any Member who violates that Oath should be impeached by the American people in the next election. Enough already!! The President can only spend the money the Congress has authorized. Any Member of Congress who refuses to raise the revenues to pay those debts and expects our great grandchildren’s children at some future date to pay off those debts should be impeached by the voters in the next election and sent home without a government pension or government health insurance. Maybe we should pay them the minimum wage and if they cannot afford bread, let them each cake. I believe that is called a proposed “chained” cost of living adjustment for Social Security.

Am I being too harsh? Any further suggestions?
