Get Caught Up in ‘Musical Mayhem’ with Hampton Rec

Attention lovers of live theatre! Hampton Parks and Recreation announces an opportunity to enjoy a great season of wonderful musical productions performed onstage at the North Shore Music Theatre in Beverly, Mass.
Tickets are now available for five unforgettable Wednesday afternoon shows, featuring “Hello, Dolly!”, “Annie,” “All Shook Up,” “9 to 5: The Musical” and “Guys and Dolls.” Tickets are only $60 each for residents and $65 each for non-residents; tickets for all five shows may be purchased at the special price of $275 for residents and $300 for non-residents.
Featuring high-energy choreography, joyful tunes and elaborate turn-of the century costumes, “Hello, Dolly!’ is a delectable treat for all ages. Presented on June 20, “Hello, Dolly!” includes “So Long Dearie,” “It Only Takes a Moment” and “Before the Parade Passes By,” as well as the title song.

One of the world’s best musicals, “Annie” tells the charming story of a spunky Depression-era orphan who finds a new family in billionaire Oliver Warbucks, his secretary Grace and a lovable mutt named Sandy. This show, scheduled for July 25, includes “Tomorrow,” “Easy Street,” “Maybe,” and many more favorites.
“All Shook Up” on Aug. 22 is Shakespeare meets James Dean, set to the unforgettable greatest hits of Elvis Presley. Loosely based on Shakespeare’s “Twelfth Night,” this fun and exciting show guarantees to have everyone jumpin’ out of their blue suede shoes to tunes that include “Jailhouse Rock,” “Love Me Tender,” “Don’t Be Cruel,” “Heartbreak Hotel,” and others by “the King of Rock and Roll.”

Based on the wildly popular movie of the same name, “9 to 5: The Musical” on Oct. 3 is about three unlikely friends teaming up and taking care of business. New music and lyrics by Dolly Parton include “9 to 5,” “Around Here,” Shine Like the Sun,” “Get Out and Stay Out,” and many others.
Rounding out this season’s musical selections will be “Guys and Dolls” on Nov. 7. Chronic gambler Nathan Detroit must keep his long-time show-girl fiancée Adelaide from finding out about his continued gambling while dodging a trip down the aisle – and trying to win a wager he makes with fellow gambler Sky Masterson. Songs include “Luck be a Lady,” “Take Back Your Mink,” “Sit Down, You’re Rockin’ the Boat” and others, including the title tune.
The deadline to sign up for the five-show package is June 6; deadlines for individual shows are June 6 for “Hello, Dolly!”; July 11 for “Annie,” Aug. 8 for “All Shook Up,” Sept. 19 for “9 to 5,” and Oct. 24 for “Guys and Dolls.” The bus for all five shows will leave from and return to the old town hall parking lot.
