According to Jeff Hiatt, Hampton Rotary Club member and the food shopping event chair, "The Rotary Club of Hampton has had a long standing partnership with Loco Sports and we are thrilled to help coordinate the purchase and distribution of food items to food pantries in Seabrook and the greater Hampton area." Hiatt went to say, "Due to the snow emergency and forced cancelation of Loco Sport's half marathon in Hampton this past February, the canned food items they ask their runners to donate were way down. As a result, Loco Sports decided to donate the monies they did not spend on day of race support services to the purchase food items to help local food pantries. This is where the Rotary Club of Hampton comes in. We have the food pantry connections and the man power to quickly purchase and distribute food items in one morning."
