Newt Gingrich needs an adviser. How about you?

With Newt's campaign staff deserting him today the question needs to be asked: how would you advise a presidential candidate?

So today's breaking news from that quadrennial buzz machine called the presidential primary is the decision by New Gingrich's campaign manager and other top advisers/strategists/plotters and planners to jump ship.

What, did they think his FIVE HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLAR credit line at Tiffany's was going to be a distraction?

But seriously, this means there now are a few openings at IWantToWorkForAPresidentialCandidateDotCom.

Good luck landing one, but never mind if you do. Whether Newt hires you or not, I'm curious:

What would you tell the former House speaker if you were advising his campaign.

Actually, I want to know how you'd advise any of the campaigns, including President Obama's.

What do you think is the most important issue?

How should candidates go about addressing it?

Do want them to shun corporate donations, stop wasting money on shiny mailers that nobody reads, promise not to make fun of Obama's kindergarten essay about wanting to be president (remember that one?)?

C'mon, by now you have to have seen or read something that made you slap your forehead in disbelief and launch into a 47-minute oration on what the candidate should be saying and that only your dog will ever hear.

Well here's your chance to enlarge your audience a bit -- and maybe land a job and help the economy in the process.

And don't tell me you have nothing to say. This is America in the 21st Century, where everyone has a book or (as I think I'm doing a good job proving) a blog in them whether people want to read it or not.

I look forward to reading your comments below.
