Rational Taxpayers of Hampton Contacts the Head of the Department of Revenue
Rational Taxpayers of Hampton seeks action by the Department of Revenue Administration over the illegal act of the Board of Selectmen.
Enclosed is an email that was sent by Rational Taxpayers of Hampton regarding the reaffirmation of an illegal encumbrance that the Chairman Rick Griffin and Ben Moore supported last Monday. Today's Hampton Union blasts this action. Selectman Bean abstained which for all intents and purposes was another vote in support. Here is the email that was sent to the State.
"Mr. Hamilton, I am the spokesman for Rational Taxpayers of Hampton, a non-profit citizens watchdog group in Hampton. We noticed that the Town rescinded an illegal encumbrance of $100K per your instruction and advice. There is another item for $14, 350 which is identical in its illegality that the Selectmen reaffirmed last Monday which simply astonishes our organization. I ask therefore that you look at this situation and advise the town accordingly. I am enclosing a link to the editorial in today’s Hampton Union which articulates the situation.

I trust that you will do the right thing something the Town Manager is incapable of doing."
