Scoop Some Bargains to Support Chase Home

THE CHASE HOME FOR CHILDREN at 698 Middle Rd. in Portsmouth has been chosen by THE FABULOUS FIND, located at 122 State Rd. (Route 1) in Kittery, Maine, to share in the profits from sales made between February 1 – 29. This is a great opportunity to scoop some bargains and help fund essential programs at the Chase Home for Children.

The Chase Home of Portsmouth was founded in 1877 as an orphanage for young children in Portsmouth, NH. Since that time, the Chase Home has continually evolved to meet the ever-changing needs of New Hampshire’s at-risk youth and their families.

Today, the Chase Home offers two types of service; residential and home-based. The Residential Program offers a longer term placement to address issues that lead to involvement with the Court. The Intensive Family Collaboration Program offers home-based family coaching to help establish the structure and consistency that will lead to reunification with long term success.

The Chase Home’s partner for this fundraising event is The Fabulous Find - a "boutique style" thrift shop which is staffed solely by volunteers. Their mission is to create community through giving and volunteerism. Each month, The Fabulous Find partners with different local non-profits. Featured organizations seek donations for the shop while spreading the word to expand the store’s shopper base. Profits at each month’s end determine the amount of the check awarded.

The Fabulous Find is a powerful example of a grassroots response that addresses the needs within the community through partnership. And the prices are definitely "thrift store prices" with most women’s clothing priced from $2.99 to $5.99! Shop 7 day a week for children and men's clothing, as well as delightful home accessories such as lamps, vases, art, china, linens, jewelry and smaller furniture, books, old and new. Due to the repairs on the bridge from Portsmouth to Kittery the best route to The Fabulous Find is: 95 North – stay straight heading into Maine.Take exit #2 (Routes 1, 236 and Route1Bypass) Take a right off the exit and right again at the rotary (Dairy Queen rotary) which puts you on Route 1 South.  The shop is about 1 mile on your left.
