Semi State of Shock with Another Storm on the Way

I mean we all live for big storms. Surfers. Yet that old saying of "Be Careful of What You Wish For" comes true we all sort of step back and shake our heads in disbelief.

Like a lot of you. I'm still sort of in a semi state of shock.

I mean we all live for big storms. Surfers. We feed off of the big Nor'easters, Tropical Storms, and Hurricanes. Yet that old saying of "Be Careful of What You Wish For" comes true we all sort of step back and shake our heads in disbelief. We feel guilty.

Seeing the death and destruction in New Jersey and New York was a sobering account of what these storms are truly capable of. With over 100 dead so far, and hundreds more injured. The Super Storm SANDY was an ass kicking storm that took it's toll on the seacoast communities from Jersey to NYC.

Those of us who live up north are all breathing a sigh of relief. I mean a slight shift in it's track could of easily have put Sandy on a course with New England and we would still be without power. As it is now some 8 million have lost power. And if that was not bad enough, there's another storm coming. A Nor'easter.

There are ways to help should you be so inclined. Click here to find out how. Or simply go to the Red Cross website and they can help direct you in ways in which you can help. I know this is hard for some of the hardcore surfers to swallow. But our dreams, are someone else's nightmares.

And that is a dilemma for Surfers. I don't know of any surfer who would knowingly sacrifice someone's home of life for good surf. Or put it this way, if I did, I would not associate myself with that selfish individual for long. I believe that 99% of all surfers are compassionate towards our fellow human beings.

So if you want to help, this link will also take you there.

As I've just written, another storm is heading up the Eastern seaboard. Damn. A Nor'easter. With wind and rain and of course high surf. Just what they don't need in Jersey or NY.

Please God spare those who have just suffered during SANDY.

[Photo 2] I know a lot of you know about the "Whale Mural" in Portsmouth, NH. That famous mural is now in jeopardy of being removed forever in place of a Parking Garage. If you want to help SAVE THE WHALE Painting go to this site and voice your opinion.

I think we can all use a good laugh. Local comic Jimmy Dunn has a great NEW book out called...BOAT HACK. JImmy is a local surfer who also happens to be a National Comic and author...check it out.

There is one common thread that runs through all of us...won't it be nice once these INSANE political ads stop running!
