The Last Graduation. The First Tropical Storm. And the Bruins Sweep the Penguins.

Somehow, when I wasn't looking, my youngest daughter grew up and finished High School, and will now be graduating on Friday June 14th, 2013. Noelle Victoria is the last of the three Fatello kids to take that final step and paddle out into the big world.
She's heading south at the end of the summer to start college.
To say that I feel old would be an understatement. I do. And all you young parents out there be forewarned, this will all happen to you too. Your babies will one day become young adults. And it all happens in the blink of an eye.

One day they are toddlers bumping into things, falling over, and the next, they are driving, and holding down jobs and heading off to college. Time waits for no man. So heed that familiar warning you young parents. Enjoy these days when they are young. Because the time will come, when you too will face the reality
of your babies growing up and moving out.
My baby is graduating from High School this Friday. And I'm sure there will be a tear or two from those of us who watched her grow up from that sweet little girl, to this bright, young, beautiful woman. We all wish her and her friends of the class of 2013, the best of luck in the future.

Speaking of luck. How amazing was that Bruins vs Penguins series? Oh my God. And this guy Tuukka Rask? Holy mackerel Lord Stanley. He was on fire! That last 30 seconds? It was like some kind of divine intervention or some invisible force field that protected that net. How else can you explain it? Just crazy.
That was the most exciting last minute of NHL hockey I have ever witnessed. Are you kidding me? Whoa. That was as good as it gets. And to Sweep the Penguins? SWEEP? 4-0. Huh? We're talking Sidney Crosby and company? Well, there's much to be said for the team that is labeled the underdog.
You know, I'm not really sure who is the underdog in this next series. The Chicago Blackhawks vs the Boston Bruins, but I do know something. Back in game 7 of the Maple leaf's series something happened to this team of Black and Gold.
And it has not changed since. It has been an incredible upward surge of momentum, that has propelled this team, and this region, to a state of heightened euphoria. The Boston Bruins are headed into the Stanley Cup Finals, and it is going to be one hell of a series.
So TS Andrea was the first Tropical storm of the Atlantic season and we actually got waves from her. I mean the thing was in the Gulf one day, and the next day, it was on our doorstep.
I was genuinely surprised at how fast it got here and how clean the surf was as well. Not that I am complaining. Hardly. But it sure seemed quick. The surf on Saturday was really good and it was still good this morning. In fact, it is good as I write this at 3:00 PM on Sunday June 9th, 2013. So if you missed Andrea there's still time to catch the last gasps of her pulse.
Look for galleries that Ed and I shot from yesterday in this week's blog, as well as photos shot today that will appear in next week's blog. Let's hope this is the start of an active Hurricane season. *Unless you live near the Jersey shore, in which case, let's hope it is not.
There's a benefit at Hampton's Flatbread Company on June 18th, 2013 from 5 PM to 9 PM to help sponsor the local American Legion Post 35 and their Wounded Warriors projects like HIT THE BEACH. See poster to the right. Please help out this great cause.
