WHS Freshmen Girls' Basketball Has Successful Start to Season

The team opened up its season with huge wins against Exeter and Keene, topping the schools by a combined 119-26.

The girl’s freshman basketball team is off to a great start. Despite only having
seven girls on the team, they were able to beat Exeter in the opening game
63-12 and followed that up with a win against Keene 56-14. The scoring has been
fairly evenly distributed between the guards, scoring 50 of the points, and the
forwards, scoring 69 of the points. The girls have worked really hard learning
all of the plays they need to know to keep the winning WHS girls basketball
program moving forward. With only seven girls of the team, they have all
enjoyed plenty of playing time. A few of the girls have had to learn multiple
roles on the team as the ability to substitute is a premium. We have been
focusing on fundamental basketball while incorporating all of the offensive,
defensive, and pressing skills needed to continue with their success. This is a
great bunch of girls who are having a good time as team mates and are enjoying
their great start. (Written by Freshmen Coach Rob Gosselin)
