Art on the Common Coming to Hampton Falls

Hampton Falls, NH – The Town of Hampton Falls, Department of Parks and Recreation is proud to present the first annual Art on the Common, on the beautiful Hampton Falls Common. Some of the finest artists in New England will be exhibiting. It will be held on June 4, 2016, from 10 AM to 5 PM, in historic Hampton Falls, New Hampshire. The rain date, if necessary, will be June 5.

Art on the Common will be a juried fine art show. Original artwork only may be displayed. Hand pulled monoprints, woodcuts, etchings, lithos, and serigraphs are accepted. A limited number of photographers may be selected, and may exhibit limited editions of their work. This is not a crafts show—no crafts accepted.

The Application and Jury Process

The application deadline is April 1, 2016. Each artist should submit a completed application, three samples of their work and an image depicting their exhibit booth on CD. Images should be in .jpeg format and 300 dpi. A reference to the artist’s website may be submitted in lieu of the work samples with the booth shot being emailed. A check for $25 as a nonrefundable jury fee and an additional check for $75 as an entry fee must accompany the application. Checks should be payable to Town of Hampton Falls with note Parks and Rec. Artists will be notified prior to May 1, 2016, whether or not their work has been accepted. The $75 check will be deposited at that time, or destroyed if the artist’s work has not been accepted.

Awards

First place winners will be given free participation in next year’s event. Categories will be Oil/Acrylic, Watercolor, Pastel, Prints.

Location and Set-Up

The Hampton Falls town common is located at the intersection of Routes 1 and 88, Hampton Falls, NH. Parking is readily available and artists may drive onto the common to set up. Each artist will be assigned a numbered space at least 10 x 10 feet square. More information about the layout will be provided in the information packet. Artists may set up the afternoon of June 3, after 3:00 PM if they wish; security will be provided.
