Cops: Man Busted for Selling Drugs, Promoting Prostitution

Hampton Police arrest Michael Heath of Newmarket on numerous charges this week; two years ago, he was bagged for pretending to be a cop.

Two years ago, Michael Heath of Newmarket was arrested and accused of using a military police badge and a blue vehicle to pull over drivers around the Seacoast. This week, police accused him of being a drug dealer and a cab driver.

Heath, 44, was arrested on Nov. 24, 2015, and charged with sale of a controlled drug, transporting controlled drugs in a motor vehicle, promoting prostitution, and operating an unlawful taxi service.

According to a report, while on Ashworth Avenue, police allege that Heath sold “a quantity of pill-type drugs to an undercover police officer.” The next day, he was arrested on additional warrants.

“The additional charges stemmed from a prior investigation by under cover officers in Hampton, where Heath was operating an illegal transportation services called Mike’s Rides,” according to the report. “Heath utilized his transportation service to sell a controlled drug, and transport an undercover officer to a location in Hampton, while believing the officer was a prostitute.”

Police were assisted by Homeland Security Investigations, the DEA, and the Newmarket Police Department.

Heath was arraigned in Seabrook District Court and held on $10,000 cash bail.
