Crash On Lafayette Road Leads To Hit-And-Run Investigation

Breaking: NHSP, Hampton Falls Police asking for tips about crash last night on Route 1 that injured a male pedestrian from Massachusetts.

HAMPTON FALLS, NH — The New Hampshire State Police and police in nearby Hampton Falls are asking for the public’s help with an alleged hit-and-run incident on Lafayette Road last night, according to an alert. At just before 11:30 p.m. on May 17, 2017, a state trooper was called to the roadway to assist police with a hit-and-run. A Seabrook Police officer, according to the report, was tipped off by a passing motorist that there was an unconscious man in the street.

The officer drove to the location and found the man on the side of the road with serious injuries. The officer stated that the pedestrian had a head injury and his leg had a compound fracture, according to Lt. John Hennessey of the NHSP.

“The Seabrook officer also noticed debris consistent with a car crash in the area of the injured subject,” Hennessey noted. “The Seabrook officer contacted Hampton Falls police, who responded to the scene and requested State Police assistance.

Members of New Hampshire State Police Troop A as well as the New Hampshire State Police Collision Accident Reconstruction Unit responded to the scene to investigate the crash. The victim, a 31-year-old man from Haverhill, MA, was transported to Portsmouth Hospital, according to the report.

Assisting the New Hampshire State Police at the scene were the Hampton Falls Fire Department, Hampton Falls Police Department, and the Seabrook Police Department.
