Crimeline Offers $1,000 Reward in Sand Sculpture Vandalism Case
Nonprofit Crimeline for the Hamptons hopes to assist the police department with its investigation.

HAMPTON, NH – Crimeline for the Hamptons, Inc., announced on June 27, 2016, that it is offering a $1000 reward for any tip that leads to the conviction of the vandal or vandals that harmed many of the pieces displayed at the 16th Annual Hampton Beach Master Sand Sculpting Competition last week, according to a post on Facebook.
“It’s beyond our comprehension why anyone would do this to the fascinating artwork and the tradition that families have enjoyed for years,” said the group’s acting chairperson Mary Ganz.
Ganz noted that many people travel to Hampton Beach to visit the event on a yearly basis and look forward to seeing the new displays.

“Part of our mission includes offering reward money for tips about criminal activity that lead to arrests or indictments,” Ganz said. “We wanted to help our police with this reward offer with the hope that someone out there knows something that can help police catch the person or people responsible for this repulsive act.”
Tips can be submitted at tipsubmit.com by selecting “Hamptons” as the region, or text the word “CRIMES” (274637) with the keyword “Hamptons” and leave the tip in the message area. Crimeline is on Facebook at facebook.com/hamptoncrimeline.
