Dead Seal Found on N. Hampton Beach

WEDNESDAY, MARCH 14

  • 3:13 p.m. — Police stopped a Chevy pickup truck vehicle driven by Amy Marie Austin, of Rochester, near 112 Lafayette Road because the vehicle was uninspected. Austin was charged with operating after suspension (subsequent offense) and was released on $2,500 personal recognizance bail. She is scheduled for arraignment on April 11 in . Ryan Adam Tetreault, of Seabrook, was a passenger in the vehicle and was arrested on a warrant. Tetreault was processed and later released to Hampton police. Joshua Jackman, of Seabrook, was also a passenger in the vehicle, and was issued a hand summons to appear in Hampton District Court on April 11 on a count of license prohibition.

FRIDAY, MARCH 16

  • 2:30 p.m. — A Dover woman called to report a past-tense burglary at an unspecified location in North Hampton.
  • 4:50 p.m. — A North Berwick, Maine, man arrived at the police station to report a credit card was stolen while he was at the New Hampshire Academy of Artistic Gymnastics at 67 Winnicut Road.
  • 5:30 p.m. — A North Hampton woman called to report a theft from an oil tank at an unspecified location.
  • 11 p.m. — An officer checked, at the request of Rye police, the area of Lafayette Road and Dow Lane in Rye for a dark-colored Subaru station wagon whose occupants had pointed a laser at another vehicle. It was confirmed that the incident occurred in Rye and the vehicle was last seen travelling south on Lafayette Road into North Hampton. The officer was unable to locate the vehicle in question.

SATURDAY, MARCH 17

  • 5:12 p.m. — A caller reported finding a dead seal on the rocks at North Hampton State Beach. The seal was found in front of spot No. 2235, and it reportedly "appeared to have been dead for quite some time" and was decomposing. Markings were found on the seal, but the animal control officer couldn't tell it was paint from the New England Aquarium or markings from something else. A message was left for the aquarium.
  • 6:11 p.m. — Police responded to an unspecified North Hampton residence after receiving a 911 call, during which the operator "could hear buttons being pushed." Police discovered a domestic violence incident in progress upon arrival. James Robert Wilson, of North Hampton, was arrested and charged with domestic violence-related simple assault and was held on $1,000 personal recognizance bail. Wilson is scheduled for arraignment in Hampton District Court on April 11.

SUNDAY, MARCH 18

  • 1:35 a.m. — Officers assisted Stratham police with an underage house party at 138 Union Road in Stratham.
