The single most pressing issue facing our (board, district, etc.) is _______, and this is what I intend to do about it.
The top issue I see facing the state is maintaining the New Hampshire advantage. Low business taxes, no sales tax, no income tax are the main ingredients to this formula. The result, New Hampshire is the second lowest taxed state in the nation. Our low taxes attract businesses like Sig Sauer, our district's largest employer, who provide good paying jobs and help grow our economy. If Joyce Craig and the Democrat’s agenda is passed, they will raise taxes on both individuals and businesses, and companies will leave our state. The New Hampshire advantage is always only one election away from ending, that is why I'm running for re-election and why it’s imperative that we maintain Republican majorities in Concord and elect Kelly Ayotte as our next Governor.
What are the critical differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?
There are many critical policy differences myself and my Democratic opponent. One such difference is our positions on Education Freedom Accounts. While all of my children attend or have graduated from our local public schools, I recognize that every child learns differently, and I believe parents should be empowered to send their children to whatever school best suits them. Education Freedom Accounts give lower- and middle-income families the choice of putting their child in the school that best meets their needs as a student. Throughout my time in the State Senate, the Democrats have consistently advocated for higher taxes while my Republican colleagues and I fight to lower taxes and reduced spending. I strongly support the Second Amendment, and I will never limit the rights of law-abiding citizens, while the Democrat's want to restrict gun rights.
Describe the other issues that define your campaign platform:
Another priority I have as your State Senator is to strengthen our criminal laws. As Vice Chair of Senate Judiciary, I will continue repairing our broken bail system that allows dangerous felons to be released into our neighborhoods. I also vow to pass my mandatory minimum sentencing for dealers of fentanyl. Fentanyl and other dangerous drugs are taking the lives of New Hampshire's youth, from Sandown to Fremont to Seabrook. I have passed this legislation in the Senate, and when Kelly Ayotte is elected Governor, she will sign it into law. I have also sponsored legislation to ban sanctuary cities and strengthen border security, next term I will work to get these bills signed into law to ensure our communities are safe and secure.
What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this position?
A good way to examine a Senator is to look at their record and the laws that they have sponsored. I have reduced property taxes for New Hampshire's 100,000+ Veterans by $25 million dollars. I sponsored legislation to protect women's sports from biological men and ensure girls have the opportunity to develop skills and leadership abilities as athletes. I have balanced budgets and cut taxes. I have been awarded Legislator of the Year by NH Police Chiefs for passing legislation to keep our community safe and I've been awarded by New Hampshire's Athletic Trainers Association for passing a law guaranteeing proper medical care for student-athletes.
The best advice ever shared with me was…
"Work hard, play hard."
What else would you like voters to know about yourself and your positions?
I'm running for re-election because I want to ensure New Hampshire remains the best place to raise a family, run a business, and build a future. I'm proud of my proven record of standing strong for my constituents and delivering results for Granite Staters. It's an honor to serve as your State Senator, I'm asking for your vote on November 5th so I can keep fighting for you in Concord.
