Elections In Hampton, North Hampton Still On For March 13

Get ready to make decisions on issues facing your town on Tuesday.

HAMPTON, NH — Tomorrow – Tuesday, March 13, 2018 – is election day in both Hampton and North Hampton and regardless of what happens with the storm, the election will still continue. Here are the details for each town.

Hampton

The town election in Hampton will be held between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m. at Winnacunnet High School.

In town this year after are four competitive races.

Five candidates – Brendan McNamara, Bryan Provencal, James Waddell, and Mary-Louise Woolsey, and Timothy “Citizen” Jones – are competing for two, three-year seats on the Board of Selectmen.

Two candidates are also vying for a single cemetery trustee seat: Mary Blackwell and Ute Pineo.

The Budget Committee has three candidates hoping to win one of the two, three-year seats. They are Brian Warburton, Sunny Kravitz, and Michael Plouffe.

The Trustee of the Trust Funds also has three candidates attempting to be elected to two seats: Warren MacKensen, Nancy Andrew, and John Bletzer.

Town voters will also be asked to approve an $11.7 million in wastewater treatment plant upgrades as well as a $27.2 million operating budget. The default budget is $26.8 million.

SAU 90 has no competitive school board races but is asking for voters to consider a $22.88 million budget with a default budget of $22.79 million.

Voters will also be asked to approve a $26.2 million budget with a default budget, if the asking budget isn’t approved, of $25.8 million for the Winnacunnect.

There are not competitive races for school board. However, there are also three competitive races this year Winnacunnect Cooperative School District board.

At-Large School Board – featuring Catherine Antonio and Jason Janvrin vying for one seat; Budget Committee – with Jennifer Blakenship and Fred Caesar competing for one seat; and At-Large Budget Committee – which has three candidates hoping to be elected to a single seat. They are Les Shepard, Max Abramson, and Shawn Brunelle.

North Hampton

Voting in North Hampton will take place between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m. at the North Hampton School.

There are two competitive races in 2018.

Two candidates are competing for a single, three-year select board seat: George Chauncey and Larry Miller.

Four candidates are also seeking two three-year seats on the Budget Committee. They are Tamara Lee, John Simmons, Rick Stanton, and Burrell York.

Voters will be asked to approve a town budget of $7.1 million. If that is rejected, the default budget is $6.99 million.

There are no competitive races for North Hampton School Board.

However, there are also three competitive races this year Winnacunnect Cooperative School District board.

At-Large School Board – featuring Catherine Antonio and Jason Janvrin vying for one seat; Budget Committee – with Jennifer Blakenship and Fred Caesar competing for one seat; and At-Large Budget Committee – which has three candidates hoping to be elected to a single seat. They are Les Shepard, Max Abramson, and Shawn Brunelle.

SAU 21 is asking voters to approve a $8.8 million budget for the system. The default budget is $8.9 million.

Voters will also be asked to approve a $26.2 million budget with a default budget, if the asking budget isn’t approved, of $25.8 million for the Winnacunnect.
