Since 1997, The Provident Bank has offered its branch lobbies to showcase the work of local artists and artisans. We do this in recognition of the cultural and economical importance of art in our communities. The Lobby for the Arts program is an ongoing series of six to eight week-long art exhibits in each branch location, including Amesbury and Newburyport, Massachusetts, and Exeter, Portsmouth and Seabrook, New Hampshire. The Bank receives no commissions for artwork sold, pays all expenses associated with the exhibit and also hosts a wine and cheese reception in the artist’s honor. This reception is free and open to the public. In September 2007, the Bank celebrated the program’s 10th anniversary. Over its 10-year run, the bank has exhibited approximately 90 local artists within the communities we serve. You can always check our website to see who is currently exhibiting at one of our branches, and attend the next reception. www.theprovidentbank.com
