Felon From Lee Accused Of Shooting During Seacoast Road Rage Incident On Route 101
Edward Braxton of Lee was arrested after being accused of shooting at another vehicle on Route 101 in Epping on July 28.

EPPING, NH — A felon is facing new charges after being accused of firing a gun at another vehicle during a road rage incident two weeks ago in Epping.
Around 4:30 p.m. on July 28, New Hampshire State Police were requested to investigate an incident on the eastbound side of Route 101 in Epping. A witness reported a Subaru WRX and a Chevrolet Silverado were involved in some incident. The witness accused the driver of the Subaru of pointing a gun out their driver-side window and firing three shots at the Chevy.
The witness said the drivers of the vehicles took Exit 7 and drove north on Route 125.

Epping police were able to track down the Subaru to McKinnon’s Auto Station on Route 125 and identified the driver as Edward J. Braxton, 48, of Lee, Amber Lagace, the public information officer for the department, said.
“During the roadside investigation,” she said, “it was determined that the witness’s observations of the operator and vehicle matched the vehicle Epping police stopped as well as its operator, Braxton. Observations of officers on scene also advised (a) trooper that there was an intact bullet belonging to a firearm in the driver side door pocket that was visible while standing outside the car.”

Braxton was accused of admitting he was on Route 101 east and was involved in a road rage incident with another vehicle, Lagace said. He was also accused of stating he was not allowed to own a firearm as he was a convicted felon, she added.
“Braxton refused consent to search the vehicle, at which time the vehicle was seized, pending a search warrant,” she said. “This search warrant was granted, and a firearm was located in the vehicle.”
Braxton was later arrested on felon in possession of a dangerous weapon and reckless conduct charges, both felonies.
Additional charges may be forthcoming, Lagace added, saying all aspects of this incident remain under investigation.
Braxton was scheduled to be arraigned on Friday in Rockingham County Superior Court. Officers from the Epping Police Department and Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the investigation.
