5. Go to a Museum for Free: Take a free trip this weekend to Manchester's SEE Science Museum courtesy of the Friends of the Lane Memorial Library.

Passes to SEE — a hands-on science discovery center established to promote the excitement and enjoyment of science, math and technology — are available throughout the year, and can be obtained up to a week in advance.

More information about the museum, which has 75 exhibits and one of the world's largest Lego brick installations — a model of the Manchester mill yards, circa 1900, complete with running water and trains — is available here.
