Five Things to Do This Weekend: Dec. 7-9
There's an annual food competition, a free all-day movie marathon, local sports, charity and holiday events and more this weekend.

Looking for something fun to do on the Seacoast this weekend? Here are some ideas (and be sure to tell us about the things you did and show us the pictures you took by e-mailing Editor Kyle Stucker at Kyle.Stucker@Patch.com):
1. Get Your Chowdah Fix: The third annual Soup and Chowder Challenge returns Saturday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church.

The public event, which serves as a benefit for Hobbs House and the Hobbs House Food Pantry, pits locals against each other for bragging rights and highly-coveted soup mug trophies.
Raffles will also be conducted during the challenge, which is still seeking entries, to support Hampton Village Preschool.

There will be two judging categories during the competition, "Best Soup" and "Best Chowder," categories that will judged by local food service professionals and by those in attendance for first, second and third place prizes and a "People’s Choice" award.

2. Have a Festive Weekend: Hanukkah, the Jewish Festival of Lights, starts this weekend, while there's also a local holiday shopping event in Hampton on Saturday morning.
