Five Things to Do This Weekend: Nov. 2-4

Students are holding a dance to raise money for a local woman in need, and a special pie-baking culinary class and free movies are also on tap.

Looking for something fun to do on the Seacoast this weekend? Here are some ideas (and be sure to tell us about the things you did and show us the pictures you took by e-mailing Editor Kyle Stucker at Kyle.Stucker@Patch.com):

1. Dance for a Good Cause: Winnacunnet High School's Halloween Dance is Saturday from 7 to 10 p.m.

The dance is a senior seminar fundraiser sponsored by Jacqui Goodhue and Haley Morancy, who are raising money for Marcia Kahl, a local resident and Hampton Natural Foods employee who was recently diagnosed with a serious life-threatening disease known as AML.

This fundraiser will help to defray some of the insurmountable medical bills incurred, which will not be covered by her insurance. Tickets for the dance will be sold during lunches on Thursday and Friday for $5, while they'll be $7 at the door.

2. Spice Up Your Culinary Skills for the Holidays: It's Nov. 1, which means you'll probably start seeing ads and ingredients for Thanksgiving, if you haven't already.

Chez Boucher Cooking School has a class on pies and tarts Saturday for anyone looking to get some good ideas or learn some new techniques to make their holiday meals and desserts a little more flavorful.

3. See a Movie: Lane Memorial Library is hosting free showings of two different movies this weekend. There's a Tinkerbell children's movie at 11 a.m. Saturday, and a movie adaptation of a hair band-inspired Broadway musical at 2 p.m. Saturday.

4. Enjoy the Wave of Politics Sure to Come to the Area: Whether you love politics or are tired of it, this weekend is the last weekend before the Nov. 6 general election.

Expect numerous political events in the area, which is good for political junkies seeking more information as well as political athiests who only have to get through one final weekend of it.

5. Catch the Last Concert of the Season: The Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom's final show of 2012 is Saturday at 8 p.m.

Also, WHS football and cross country look to continue their strong seasons, and this weekend is Daylight Saving Time, so enjoy your extra hour of sleep or free time when you move your clocks back an hour on Sunday!

What else is going on? You tell us! There are plenty of other events, but we want to know what you're going to do. Tell us in the comments!
