Greenland Woman Killed After Crash On Route 101

Dawn Houston-Fields lost her life after a CT man driving a truck in the wrong direction on a ramp crashed into her motorcycle.

HAMPTON, NH — A local woman was killed last night on Route 101 after a crash at the road's interchange with Route 1 in Hampton, according to New Hampshire State Police. Dawn Houston-Fields, 32, of Greenland, was driving a 2007 Kawasaki EX 250 motorcycle when she was struck head-on by Voluntown, CT, man who was driving a 1997 Dodge Dakota truck at just before midnight on Sept. 16, 2017. Charges have not been filed against the man even though he was “traveling southbound on the northbound ramp” according to Lt. John Hennessy of the NHSP.

“Houston-Fields sustained serious injuries and was transported to Portsmouth Regional Hospital where she later died from the injuries sustained in the collision,” Hennessey stated. The Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit was called to the scene to investigate the crash. They were assisted on scene by members of the New Hampshire State Police-Troop A, the Hampton Police Department, the Hampton Fire and Rescue Department, and the Office of the State Medical Examiner.
