Hampton Historical Society to host 12th annual Southern Style Pig Roast

The Hampton Parks and Recreation Department has tickets available for Hampton Historical Society’s 12th annual Southern Style Pig Roast, taking place on Saturday, August 31 from 12-2:30 p.m. on the grounds of the Tuck Museum, located on Park Avenue in Hampton.

This year’s event is especially meaningful because it coincides with the celebration of Hampton’s 375th anniversary.

As always, delicious roast pork will be served alongside a variety of salads, homemade baked beans, applesauce, the Society’s famous dessert selection and beverages. The afternoon includes a silent auction, music, activities for kids and a 50/50 raffle.

Tickets for the pig roast are $20 for adults; student tickets (for those ages 9-16) are $10, and children under 8 years old are free when accompanied by an adult ticket holder. The purchase of 10 tickets at once includes a table reservation.

Tickets may be purchased in advance at the Hampton Parks and Recreation Department, Marelli’s Market, the Provident Bank, the Tuck Museum, online at the HHS Web site and from any HHS board member. Once again, the Society is pleased that the Provident Bank is the prime sponsor.

This popular event is the only fundraiser held by the Hampton Historical Society. The income to operate the Tuck Museum, along with a variety of school and community programs, is derived from the pig roast, so its success is vital to the financial stability of the society.
