Hampton Man Allegedly Threatened to Burn Home, Kill Cops
Roy Leach was Tased and arrested this week after allegedly making threats and punching holes in walls of a home on O Street.

HAMPTON, NH — A local man is due in court next month after allegedly threatening to torch a home on O Street, according to police. Roy Leach V, 26, of Hampton, was arrested on April 2, 2017, for criminal threatening and disorderly conduct.

Police, according to Deputy Chief David Hobbs of the Hampton Police Department, were sent to O Street at around 2 a.m. for a report of a man “punching holes in the walls” of a home. Hobbs stated that police arrived at the home and reportedly identified the man as Leach.

“Police learned that Leach had made statements to another person, threatening to burn the residence down,” he alleged. “Officers also had reason to believe that Leach was armed with a knife and overheard statements from him threatening to kill Hampton Police Officers.”
Leach emerged from the home and officers Tased him in order to take him into custody, according to a report. He was released on bail and is due in court on May 9, for an arraignment.

The case, Hobbs noted, is still under investigation and more charges may be coming at a later date.
