
Police arrested a Hampton man on Oct. 28 and charged him with three counts of criminal threatening and one count of burglary.
Joseph A. Smith, 28, was arrested around 5:20 p.m. at 12 M St. during the execution of a search warrant, according to police. During the booking process, police said Smith damaged property of the Hampton Police Department, and was charged with an additional count of criminal mischief.
Smith's bail was set at $15,000, and he is scheduled to be arraigned on Dec. 5. He is being held at the Rockingham County Jail.

Also arrested on Friday, police said, was David Briere, 28, of Hampton, on an electronic bench warrant for failure to appear in court. He was released on $1,500 personal recognizance bail, with an arraignment date of Dec. 5.
