Hampton-North Hampton Schools Closed, Parking Bans Issued

HAMPTON, NH — Schools in Hampton and North Hampton will be closed on Tuesday, March 14, 2017, due to the coming Nor’easter. Also closed on Tuesday are the Imprints Dayschool, the Laugh and Learn Exploratorium, the Sacred Heart School, the Centre School, the North Hampton Library, and North Hampton town offices.

In Hampton, the town election is still going on but the officials are advising to vote as early as possible since the snow will be heaviest in the afternoon.

In North Hampton, citizens are encouraged to vote between 8 a.m. and noon, before the weather conditions are expected to worsen.

A winter parking ban is in place in North Hampton from 9 a.m. on Tuesday until Thursday, March 16.

The Hampton public works department has also issued a snow emergency parking ban from 6 a.m. on Tuesday until 6 a.m. on March 16.

Municipal trash and recycling collection will not occur on Tuesday. Crews will resume collections on Wednesday. Tuesday routes will be collected on Wednesday, Wednesday routes on Thursday, and Thursday and Friday routes will be collected on Friday.

The Transfer Station will be closed on Tuesday as scheduled.

Residents are reminded that it is unlawful to place or deposit snow upon any town street or sidewalk.
