Hampton Officer Injured After Crash on Route 1A
The collision between a motorcycle and a Mazda from Stoneham, MA, occurred on C Street while the officer was being called to a domestic.

HAMPTON, NH – A police officer was treated and released from Portsmouth Regional Hospital this morning after colliding with a vehicle from Massachusetts at the intersection of Route 1A and C Street, according to a New Hampshire State Police report.
Troopers from Troop A were sent to the intersection at just before 10 a.m. on June 23, 2016, after Hampton Police requested assistance with a crash investigation.
The officer, riding a motorcycle, was traveling southbound in the breakdown lane near C Street when a Mazda, being driven by a 57-year-old Stoneham man, was driving north and made a left hand turn onto the street from Route 1A, according to Lt. Christopher Vetter of the NHSP. The motorcycle collided with the passenger side rear door of the sedan and the officer was thrown from the bike. The officer sustained minor injuries, was transported to the hospital, and then released. The driver of the sedan, according to Vetter, was not injured.

The New Hampshire State Police were assisted at the scene by the Hampton Police Department and the Hampton Fire Department.
