Hampton Parolee Arrested on Domestic Felony Assault Charges

Police allege that Benjamin Hawthorne was also arrested on false imprisonment, other charges.

HAMPTON, NH – A local parolee was arrested last week on alleged assault charges against his wife, according to police.

Benjamin Hawthorne, 31, of Ashworth Avenue in Hampton, was arrested on June 16, 2016, and charged with two counts of felony second-degree assault, false imprisonment, also a felony, three counts of domestic assault, and using force or threats to prevent the report of injury or crime.

According to police, officers were sent to the home for a report of a domestic.

When they arrived, they spoke with the victim and Hawthorne, and after an investigation, arrested him on numerous charges.

Hawthorne was held at the Rockingham County Jail on a no bail status. He was arraigned in Seabrook District Court and held on $2,500 cash, due to his status as a parolee out of the state prison.
