Hampton Passenger Injured in SUV Rollover Crash

NHSP: Marcia Preston was arrested for driving while intoxicated after accident last night in Seabrook that injured another woman.

SEABROOK, NH - A local woman was arrested last night for driving while intoxicated after a crash on Washington Street that injured her passenger, a woman from Hampton.

Marcia Preston, 22, of Seabrook, was arrested on Feb. 20, 2016, and charged with driving while intoxicated.

According to New Hampshire State Police, at around 9:30 p.m. last night, Seabrook Police and Troop A troopers were called to a rollover crash at Washington Street and Walton Road in Seabrook.

Preston, troopers allege, “was driving northbound at a high rate of speed on Washington Street when she failed to negotiate a turn in the road” and “subsequently struck a stone monument and flagpole, causing the vehicle to roll over.”

Preston and a passenger – a woman from Hampton – were transported to Exeter Hospital where they were treated for minor injuries, according to NHSP. Preston was later arrested and is due in court on March 10.

The New Hampshire State Police troopers were assisted at the scene by members of the Seabrook Police Department and the Seabrook Fire Department, according to a report.

Although alcohol and speed appear to have been factors in the causation of this crash, this incident remains under investigation, noted Sgt. John Hennessey of the NHSP.
