Hampton Police ​Now Have ​Internet Purchase Exchange Location​

Hampton Police are teaming up with OfferUp in order to help improve the safety of online transactions.

HAMPTON, NH — The Hampton Police Department has partnered with OfferUp to provide the community

with a designated Internet purchase exchange location at the Hampton Police Department, according to a press statement. Anyone seeking to do business online or other in-person transaction is welcome and encouraged to utilize this safe place in front of the Hampton Police Department at 100 Brown Avenue. OfferUp’s mission of building the simplest and most trustworthy local buying and selling experience is in line with the Hampton Police Department’s mission of preventing crime and enhancing the quality of life for all persons who live, work, and visit our community, said Deputy Chief David Hobbs of the Hampton Police Department in a press statement.

"This serves as a safe place for community members to complete in person transactions to protect both buyers and sellers," Hobbs said. "We are excited about joining the other 700 law enforcement agencies throughout the U.S. utilizing this program to promote safer practices for these transaction."
