Hampton School District Annual Meeting Dates, Info Released

Budget hearings begin Thursday while the deliberative session will be held on Feb. 7. Town Meeting voting will take place on March 8.

HAMPTON, NH — It’s 2022 Annual School District Meeting time which means residents will have a number of meetings to attend and decisions to make between January and March.

The Hampton Budget Committee will hold its public hearing, for both school and town budgets, at 7 p.m. on Thursday in the cafeteria of Hampton Academy.

The first session of the 2022 annual Town Meeting, called a deliberative session, will be held on Monday, Feb. 7, with a snow date of Feb. 10 booked. The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. in the gymnasium of Hampton Academy.

“At that meeting, registered voters of Hampton will consider the posted warrant for the annual meeting,” according to Mariah Curtis of SAU 8.

Town Meeting voting will be held between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 8 in the dining hall of Winnacunnet High School in Hampton. After budgets are set and candidates make the ballot, absentee ballots will be available for voters. Voters can request absentee ballots until March 7.

On the school district ballot, there will be two, three-year school board positions. Candidates have until Jan. 19 to declare their candidacies and have until Jan. 28 to file.

The warrant for the annual meeting will be posted in two weeks at the town hall, Lane Library, and the Hampton schools, Curtis said. The warrant and supporting materials and information detailing the proposed operating budget and proposed warrant articles will also be posted on the sau90.org website.
