Hampton Woman Arrested in Portsmouth on Second DWI Charge
Police: Elyssa LaFrance was arrested after police received a tip from a restaurant employee about her allegedly nodding off at the wheel.

PORTSMOUTH, NH — A local woman was arrested in Portsmouth during the weekend for allegedly driving drunk. Elyssa LaFrance, 36, of Hemlock Haven in Hampton, was arrested at 11:47 p.m. on Feb. 25, 2017, for driving while intoxicated-second offense.

According to a police report, a restaurant employee on Lafayette Road reported to police that a woman who came through the drive-thru appeared to be intoxicated on a substance. The vehicle later left the area traveling south and police stopped it at Cumberland Farms.

An officer spoke with the employee who alleged that the woman was “nodding off in the car” and “should could not complete sentences.” The employee alleged that the vehicle struck the curb when she tried to park the vehicle. The woman was arrested and put on a 24-hour hold, according to police.
According to online reports, in August 2012, LaFrance was arrested in Hampton for DWI. She lost her license in November. In December 2013, in Manchester, she alleged slapped her aunt in the face during a Christmas Party, according to the New Hampshire Union Leader.
