Hampton Woman Blew More than Three Times Legal Alcohol Limit: Cops
Pelham Police arrested Meaghan Carney on numerous drunk driving charges on Gordon Avenue near Windham Road yesterday morning.

PELHAM, NH — A local woman was arrested yesterday morning on numerous charges after allegedly driving drunk in Pelham, according to police. Meaghan Carney, 25, of Hampton, was arrested on Oct. 24, 2016, and charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated, driving while intoxicated-second offense, and driving while intoxicated-per se, and driving while intoxicated.

At just before 9 a.m., police received a call from a concerned motorists that observed a vehicle traveling all over the roadway and also speeding in the area of Tallant Road. While heading to the area, a second call came in and police became concerned because, “The area is heavy populated with morning commuting traffic and neighborhood kids getting ready for school at their bus stops,” according to Capt. Stephen Toom of the Pelham Police Department.

An officer located the vehicle – a silver Chevrolet Impala – and saw it make a left hand turn onto Gordon Avenue from Windham Road and stopped the vehicle. The driver – Carney – was arrested.
While at police headquarters, it was reportedly determined that her blood alcohol concentration was more than three times the 0.08 legal limit, according to a press statement.

Carney was processed and released and is due in Salem District Court on Oct. 31.
