The Head Start program is currently accepting applications for the 2018-2019 school year. The centers are located in Portsmouth, Hampton, and Seabrook. Head Start offers half day preschool programming for children 3 and 4 years of age from seacoast and the surrounding communities. The part day program is free for families who meet the income eligibility guidelines.
Head Start is a national program that promotes school readiness by helping preschoolers develop the early reading, math and social skills they need for a successful transition to kindergarten. The program also provides nutritious breakfast and lunch, family support and opportunities for family involvement.
