'Invaluable' College Networking Fair Tonight

The first-of-its-kind event will bring opportunity and resources to local Winnacunnet High School students and parents tonight.

A Winnacunnet High School teacher is hoping to "harness the power of networking" tonight to improve local students' career opportunities and give them the chance to connect with recent Winnacunnet graduates working in fields in which they're interested.

Linda Libbey said over 100 alumni have registered for tonight's "invaluable" Winnacunnet Young Alumni College Networking Fair, the first-ever held at WHS. Libbey said she organized the fair to give students and parents the opportunity to ask questions about recent graduates' post-secondary education search experience, decision process, and information about their current school and major.

The free fair is from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. in the school's dining hall.

Libbey said she also came with the idea as a way to build a database of alumni e-mails in order to increase the resources available to local students. More than 60 colleges will be represented by the individuals at tonight's fair, and many others have contributed their e-mails to the database despite not being able to attend the session, according to Libbey.
