The single most pressing issue facing our (board, district, etc.) is _______, and this is what I intend to do about it.
The single most important issue in Hampton is town-wide property revaluation in a seller market and no housing inventory to sell. I will propose legislation to have more transparency in revaluation to ensure that the examiners have financial real estate-specific expertise. And people can predict how the property tax will behave in the future.
What are the critical differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?
My experience as a Zoning board member and a former Hampton state representative has helped me better serve the residents of Hampton. On the first day of the NH House session, I will be able to help Hampton Residents with the legislation that they have a concern about. And I will be able to discern which bill is either beneficial to Hampton residents or has a hidden tax written in the bill
Describe the other issues that define your campaign platform:
The other issue is the unaffordability of interest rates caused by politicians overspending. How does one get their money back from these failed pet projects from the Inflation Reduction Act or the Green New Deal? Updating Rockingham County radio communications equipment. Marsh flooding and the Ipswich Mucky Peat soil composition on the marsh side of Ashworth Ave. The sneaky Hampton hotel tax. Offshore wind farm problem. Exempt Meals and Wheels program from Rooms and Meals tax. Government debt.
What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this position?
I am a former board member of Community Home Solutions, which fought Home Foreclosures and I am a former Hampton State Representative. I am a Hampton Zoning Board Member who meets regularly every month. And studies issues that come before the board for consideration. I was on the NH House Environmental and Agricultural Committee which helped me understand Hampton-specific issues. The NH House Committees can meet from 1 day to 5 days a week. Hampton will need to have a Representative sit on the Finance Committee which can meet 4 days a week.
The best advice ever shared with me was…
The best advice was lessons from Former Capt. Bernie Robertson Hampton Fire Department. His teaching, at Hampton Fire Explorers, was the value of teamwork, preparedness, and unwavering dedication to serving others which stayed with my working career.
What else would you like voters to know about yourself and your positions?
