Why are you seeking elective office?

I am a wife and a mother. I am a small business owner and proven community leader. I am running for NH State Representative to better serve the residents of North Hampton with transparency, accountability, and integrity. I am proud to have grown up in the Live Free or Die state. I am running for my seven year old daughter. I want to work to preserve what makes New Hampshire a great place to grow up, to raise a family, and to retire for her future and for ours.

The single most pressing issue facing our (board, district, etc.) is _______, and this is what I intend to do about it.

This election is critical for the future direction of our state. Covid 19 has impacted every resident and every business owner. We will need to find creative solutions and compromise to overcome a budget deficit while allowing our residents and businesses the best possible opportunity to thrive. My top priority is ensuring the NH Advantage. I will not support any broad base taxes. No state sales tax, no state income tax, not now, not ever.

What are the critical differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?

I am for greater transparency and openness in government. My opponent voted with the Democrat majority 98% of the time. He voted against grater transparency in local government (HB 729).
I am also for no new taxes and controlling spending. My opponent voted for an income tax (HB712 & SB1), voted to increase state spending by more than 13% (HB1), voted for a 40% increase in real estate transfer taxes (SB74), voted to eliminate the education tax credit (HB632), voted for raising business taxes (HB623)

If you are a challenger, in what way has the current board or officeholder failed the community (or district or constituency)

My opponent voted with the radical policies of the Democrat majority 98% of the time. They pursued and repeatedly passed tax legislation including passing an income tax bill when the state was running a surplus.

Describe the other issues that define your campaign platform

In addition to preserving the NH Advantage, we need to ensure public safety by continuing to support our law enforcement and all first responders. We also need to keep school resource officers in our schools for the protection of our students. Any and all calls to remove them should be immediately rebuked.
As a mother and small business owner I understand the challenge of working while supporting your children in remote learning. We need good quality in-person public education. It's also time to have the conversation about School Choice. Only parents know what is truly best for their children and they should be allowed to make the best possible decision for their family's needs.

What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?

Having served as a State Representative previously as well as in various Board and committee roles in the community, I understand the open dialogue and compromise that need to occur to best represent the people of North Hampton. I am a proven community leader who fights for transparency, open communication, and working together despite differences to find positive solutions.

The best advice ever shared with me was …

"Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." My seven year old recently proudly reminded me of this golden rule and it is so very true - change starts with us.

What else would you like voters to know about yourself and your positions?

If given the honor and opportunity, I will continue to provide leadership and solutions at the state, county, and community levels on behalf of the people of North Hampton.
