Komen NH Race for the Cure Kickoff Party, October 7 - Meet, Greet, and Committee Up!

Join the dedicated volunteers as they plan Komen VT-NH's best event on the Seacoast!

Kristen Caseley, Chair of the 2015 Komen New Hampshire Race for the Cure, invites all interested parties to join her at the Sheraton Portsmouth Harborside on Tuesday, October 7, for the race’s Kickoff Party - a fun, informational and inspirational gathering to discuss Volunteer Race Committee opportunities for the upcoming race season (the 2015 race will be held on May 9 in Portsmouth).

A casual, social event with complimentary cheese and fruit plates - and a cash bar, raffles and prizes! - the Kickoff Party will present a quick (6:30-8:30 p.m.) overview of the various committee positions currently available, with a Q & A session with past committee members and chairs.

Kristen, a volunteer since 2013 and the Survivor Chair of the 2014 Race, got involved because she wanted to “give something back to a worthy cause.” “Breast cancer touches so many lives, so many families,” she said. “My aunt is a two-time breast cancer survivor, and a very dear friend of mine lost her mother to breast cancer. This seemed like a good fit for me.”

Up to 75% of the monies raised at the New Hampshire Race, the Vermont Race, and through all other Komen events held in either New Hampshire or Vermont, directly and positively impacts the lives of local women, men and children dealing with the effects of breast cancer (the remaining 25% is dedicated to breast cancer research). In 2014, Susan G. Komen Vermont-New Hampshire granted $350,000 to 11 breast health organizations, for education, screening and treatment, in the two states.
